-Higher sprocket ratio = The rear sprocket has many more teeth than the front sprocket
Important: Decreasing the ratio too much will cause the bike to loose power and unable to reach top speed, it is not recommended for most bikes to lower the ratio more than the equivalent of -2 teeth at the rear or +1 teeth at the front.
- Increased Torque: More pulling power, ideal for low-speed applications
- Reduced Top Speed: Higher engine RPM is needed to maintain the same speed, limiting maximum speed.
- Increased Top Speed: Lower engine RPM at higher speeds, which can achieve faster travel.
- Reduced Torque: Less pulling power, making it harder to climb hills or carry heavy loads
